Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long does the program last?
A. Once opened, a SchoolStore website is open for one full year...so the school earns money all year long from the Family Bookstore, the national online merchants and the donated Caring For Classrooms gift cards. The Family Bookstore orders and gift card donations also count toward student prizes through-out the school year. As a supporter of the school you may receive emails through-out the school year.
Q. How long does it take for the students to get their prizes?
A. The participation prizes are sent with the materials to start the program and awarded when the students participate and return their participation code. The prizes earned from the student sales are generated 20 days after your program starts, again at 45 days after program start and then every 30 days through-out the year as prizes are earned.
Q. How long does it take to receive a Gift of Reading Card?
A. The gift card will be emailed to the student's parents and electronically delivered to the student's "Your Gift Cards" page in the schoolstore.net account in about two business days.
Q. What can the Caring For Classrooms gift cards be used by the teacher to purchase?
A. The teacher may purchase from a wide selection of educational resources including brands like Learning Resources, Educational Insights, Crayola, Sargent Art, Pacon, Dixon Ticonderoga and many more. Teachers may also order books searchable by grade level, Accelerated Reading points and reading level. Also available are the best children's magazines subscriptions for the classroom including National Geographic Kids, Highlights, Zoobooks and many more. You can see a list of all the items at www.caringforclassrooms.org.
Q. How does the student prize program work?
A. The prize program is cumulative...meaning when a student earns points for a certain prize...they will also earn all the prize below that prize. They ship to the school 20 days after your program starts, again at 45 days after program start and then every 30 days as long as more prizes are earned.
