
Did you know that you can check to see if your student has overdue library book fines or Chromebook fees/fines?
1. To check, log into https://destiny.highlands.k12.fl.us/district/servlet/presentdistrictloginform.do and in the top right corner, click "Log in".
2. Username is the Student ID#.
3. Password is the same one used to get into your student's Chromebook.
4. Once you have logged in, click the "MY INFO" tab at the top left to see resource information.
If your student has a fine or fee, you can then go to this link: https://highlands.revtrak.net/middle-schools-page/avon-park-middle/apm-fees-and-fines/#/list and pay the appropriate amount.

Basketball conditioning for boys will be next Monday, Tuesday, and Wendesday (Sept. 30th, Oct. 1st, and Oct. 2nd) immediately after school until 4:00 PM.
All paperwork must be uploaded to the Athletic Clearance website before they can attend conditioning.
This is only for those boys who are not playing football.

APMS Families: Below is information on the Where's The Bus App. for if your student rides the bus and you would like to keep track of their status.





Picture Day Re-takes will be on October 9th. If you ordered pictures and your student student needs to re-take them, then they will need to bring their packet with them to turn back into the photographer. If your student was originally absent on picture day, they will also get their picture done this day as well.


APMS Families: This is a reminder that your student will be taking the PM1 for Math tomorrow, September 17th, 2024. Please make sure your student arrives to school on time, has their chromebook charged (with their charger), eats a good breakfast, and gets a good night's sleep. We look forward to our students showing us what they know!


During the month of September, Avon Park Middle School is excited to join the nation in celebrating our Founding Fathers.


APMS Families: The SAC/PTO meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow is being canceled. We are rescheduling that meeting for Monday, September 23rd, 2024 at 5:30pm. We hope to see you all there next Monday!

This is just a reminder that tomorrow students will be taking the FAST PM1 for ELA. Please ensure your students arrive on time to school as testing will begin promptly at the first bell. Please also ensure that students get a good night's rest, chromebooks are charged, students bring their chargers to school with them, and that they eat a good breakfast to help ensure maximum effort on the test. We had a great start to the new school year last week and are looking forward to week 2. There are just a few important reminders for all families that came up this week to ensure that our school operations during the school day run smoothly and safely. First, any parent needing to have a message delivered to his/her child MUST notify the office staff prior to 2:30 pm to allow for time during the busy afternoon to get the message to your child. Also, there are no student checkouts after 2:45 pm or after 12:45pm on 2-hour Early Release days due to congestion and inability to move freely through the parking lot/parent pick up area in the afternoon. Please make arrangements if you need to pick up your child early to do so before 2:45. Please also be reminded that food deliveries including fast food items to students at Avon Park Middle School during lunch or anytime during the school day is not permitted. This creates a distraction on campus for many reasons. Students will either need to eat a school lunch (which is provided to them daily free of charge) or pack and bring their lunch with them each day to school. Finally, all students need to be dropped off and picked up from the designated zone in the front parent drop off and pick up loop. This is in the front of school which is also the staff and visitor parking area. Parents trying to line up in the back of school at the beginning and end of the school day to drop off or pick up their child when they walk out of the gate creates a safety concern for our busses out back and our student walkers and is not permitted. Unless your child walks or rides their bike to school, please make sure to use the proper designated area in the front to drop off and pick them up. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of these procedures that will be enforced to ensure the safety of all. We are looking forward to a fantastic week 2 at Avon Park Middle School.

APMS Families: Please make sure that your child has their needed school supplies from the School-wide Supply list, including their 3โ binder and dividers. Students will be setting up their binders in their Social Studies classes on Friday of this week so it is important that they come to school prepared with the supplies to do so.
